Hi, I'm Lorant

I'm an independent builder and thinker
I built my first app for 3 years before the AI era.It peaked at 3 MAU: me, myself and I 💀Some would call it a failure. I call it the best teacher I ever had.It taught me two things:
  1. How to design crazy good UI
  2. How not to build a business
Since then, I have:
  • Built Once UI: an open-source design system that has helped developers without design skills and designers without coding skills to ship world-class products.
  • Launched multiple products: some of them are already used by thousands, others are still in the early days, but all of them are on a steady path.
  • Created the Design Engineers Club: a community of 1000+ independent creators building, connecting and writing a story.
If you want to become an independent creator — live on your own terms, based on your own rhythm and values — this path is open. It works, but it takes years of bumping into your own limits before you realize you’re not smarter than everyone else. That humility is where the real progress starts.98% of products fail in their first year. Not because they’re bad, but because building a business is more complex than it looks. But it's a skill, and like any skill, it can be learned. Once you’ve built one that works, you can do it again and again.I can’t promise shortcuts. I can only share the conclusions I’ve reached to make your progress faster. It's not the easy way — but one that works.
